Rachmaninoff had the largest of all pianists keystroke coverage. He could cover twelve white keys at once! And with the left hand of Rachmaninov freely took a chord: c – e-flat – g – c – g ! His hands were really big, but wonderfully beautiful, the colors of ivory, without the swollen veins of many concert pianists, and without knots on his fingers.
At the end of his life, buttons on Rachmaninoff’s shoes (namely shoes on buttons he liked to wear), buttoned only the wife, so that before the concert, God forbid, the nail on the finger be damaged…
